SOLICITOR

We are a law firm based in Sheffield City Centre, specialising in Civil and Commercial Litigation.

Hours of work: 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (ability to work out of hours if and when required)

Salary: Negotiable DOE

An excellent position has arisen for a solicitor within our firm.  The ideal candidate will be 3 years PQE with litigation experience.  We are looking for enthusiastic candidates with a sharp legal mind.  You will be working on a diverse and enviable caseload including commercial contract disputes and high-value ultra-complex financial services regulatory matters.  You will be joining a highly expert team, deploying in-depth knowledge and sound legal service of the highest quality. 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing your own caseload
  • Handling files from pre-action to conclusion
  • Drafting routine correspondence and pleadings
  • Attending trial
  • Attendance upon clients and counsel
  • Dispute resolution

  • Ability to appear in lower courts for CMCs and CCMCs

PARALEGAL

We are a law firm based in Sheffield City Centre, specialising in Civil and Commercial Litigation.

Hours of work: 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (ability to work out of hours if and when required)

Salary: Negotiable DOE

An excellent position has arisen for a paralegal within our firm and the role would provide the opportunity for the successful candidate to build up experience in relation to a wide range of litigation matters including complex multi-million pound cases. We are looking for enthusiastic candidates with the initiative to manage their own caseload with minimal supervision. Applications are particularly welcomed from those with prior litigation experience.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the Managing Director and Associate Paralegal
  • Drafting routine correspondence
  • Diary maintenance
  • Provide word processing support, transcribing documents from handwritten notes and digital dictation with the ability to work on lengthy complex documents
  • Prepare bills as required
  • Maintain paper and electronic records including inputting data, keeping records, confidential and general filing systems as directed to ensure an effective record of client and financial information
  • Carrying out research
  • Attend court to support fee earners
  • Attend upon clients and counsel
  • Provide cover for support staff when required

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively deal with a wide range of clients and members of staff
  • Ability to work individually and as an effective member of a team
  • An understanding of the need to deal with clients sensitively and to keep information confidential
  • Ability to take on individual project work and demonstrate initiative
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills

 

LEGAL SECRETARY

We are a law firm based in Sheffield City Centre, specialising in Civil and Commercial Litigation.

Hours of work: 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (ability to work out of hours if and when required)

An excellent position has arisen for a legal secretary within our firm.  The role would provide the opportunity for the successful candidate to build up experience in a legal environment. Applications are particularly welcomed from those with prior legal and/or litigation experience.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing administrative and secretarial support to the Managing Director and Paralegal Team
  • Assisting with routine correspondence and enquiries from clients, members of the public and contacts
  • Busy diary maintenance
  • Providing word processing support, transcribing documents from handwritten notes and digital dictation with the ability to work on lengthy complex documents
  • Preparing bills as required
  • Maintaining paper and electronic files to include inputting data, keeping records, confidential and general filing systems as directed to ensure an effective record of client and financial information
  • General administrative duties including photocopying, sending faxes, scanning of documents, answering telephones, taking messages and sorting and distributing post
  • Hospitality – looking after guests/clients in the office (making drinks, taking them to the correct room etc)
  • Provide cover for support staff when required
